The next literary gathering at Tòmiris Llibreria is dedicated to the presentation of 550 Days in Tírvia. Writings (1953–1955), by Gil López García, published by Garsineu Edicions.
The event will feature Francesc Prats, editor; Carme Turégano, responsible for transcription and editing; and Marco Noris, visual artist and author of the book’s cover image.

This volume brings together the texts written by Gil López García during his stay in the small Pyrenean village of Tírvia, between 1953 and 1955. Quoting the text on TARTER DE LLIBRES, López García “during his stay in Pallars wrote diaries that form the basis of this book. The literary, poetic, ethnographic and historical richness of the three transcribed notebooks invites us to make them known, because the beauty of certain descriptions, of the stories of characters and of conversations with neighbours cannot remain hidden from the eyes and ears of the inhabitants of these villages nor of those who love this land.”

The cover image corresponds to the work Memòries i Empremtes de la Coma de Burg, by Marco Noris. Made in 2018 with water from the village fountain in Farrera, the work establishes a dialogue between past and present, sharing the memory of a territory thought and remembered from two gazes that meet across the distance of years.
