Garzón Maps

These cartographies were made by Marco Noris during his residency at Campo Garzón, Uruguay. The pictorial process began by using the waters of the Garzón stream to capture snapshots of the land on paper and canvas, representing the territory through the action of water and natural processes such as wind, sun and rain.

These cartographies were made by Marco Noris during his residency at Campo Garzón, Uruguay. The pictorial process began by using the waters of the Garzón stream to capture snapshots of the land on paper and canvas, representing the territory through the action of water and natural processes such as wind, sun and rain. The making of the works unfolded by accompanying and intervening in these natural processes, in a constant and patient play of chaos and control, control and chaos. In their realization, the artist sought a chromatic progression encompassing different states and elements of the earth, taking as reference materials from the surroundings—vegetation, sheet metal, eucalyptus, wire, stone and soil—.
