Dins La pell de la terra (entre cims i cavallons) —literally Within the skin of the earth (between peaks and furrows)— is an intervention by Marco Noris presented in halls 1–3 of the former Cal Trepat foundry in Tàrrega, on the occasion of the exhibition Un món fràgil (Embarrat, 2021).
The work establishes a network of analogies between the act of traversing the territory through walking—through the body—and the act of furrowing the land through ploughing, one of the key agricultural tools historically produced in the factory. Both actions, walking and ploughing, share a physical, rhythmic, and transformative dimension: they inscribe traces, structure space, and turn territory into experience.
The subtitle entre cims i cavallons (between mountain crests and ploughed ridges) introduces a second symbolic correspondence by linking the ridges of cultivated fields with mountain crests. This relationship shifts the reading of the landscape toward an understanding of territory as a continuous cultural and geographical unit, where the productive and the geological, the everyday and the ancestral, are interwoven. The experience of the traverse—walking as a form of knowledge—thus becomes the conceptual and methodological engine of the intervention, articulating body, labour, and landscape within a single gesture of inscription upon the land.
